Mechanics of Writing & Tutoring

Students will actively engage in writing two essays at scheduled dates throughout the semester.

Prior to handing in your research papers, all students need to vet their work through this handy grammar/spelling app.

Grammarly.com Download the app now onto your desktop.

I strongly recommend you make use of this app in all of your college papers. It's informative, user-friendly.  It will assist you in your knowledge and use of the mechanics of writing!

Assistance from the Cazenovia College website...

The Center for Teaching and Learning is a unique facility staffed with both professional educators and students (peer tutors) who provide service to all students who need extra help in their college work.

It is not unusual for students to need assistance in maximizing their educational growth in a variety of areas during their four years at the college.

The Center for Teaching & Learning assists students in these efforts.  Make an appointment well in advance (1.5 weeks) at the Center to assist you in the writing process.

I am also happy to see drafts at a minimum of 1.5 weeks in advance of due date. Please inform me that I will be expecting your draft prior to submission.

The Center should be used throughout your career at the college to help you in the refinement and organization of your writing examples. 315.655.7296

Multi Media Presentations

Select one artist from the Sculptural List we have been working with in our course together.   You will create a 5-7 minute multi media presentation that introduces the work of the sculptor's work to our course. You may have index cards to assist you.  You need to need to produce one slide presenting their back ground information and the following: Name Nationality birth/death date Style of their work / materials of their work Influences of the work they created Did they attend higher education, where? Are they affiliated with a gallery? Have they had museum exhibitions? Followed by two examples of the sculptor's work, either on one slide or in two separate slides. Give an image to both examples with complete details Title (in italics) Date Materials Dimensions How was the work made? Where is it now? Make sure you s earch to see if they have a website as it will give a great deal of information! Or in other essays written about...
